Pictures from this morning’s sunrise. This is a spot I often take my runs past and have therefore been holding a long standing intention to make these images. I finally roused myself two mornings in a row and after an unsuccessful first try I got home with what I was looking for this morning. Check them out:
Slow your roll and stem the tide,
They only wish tan your hide,
How dare you soothe, assuage, and calm!?
They’ll chap their ass and refuse your balm.
They do not care you’re on their side.
Up before the sky turns pink,
hiking out as the tide begins to sink.
This is the magic hour
No one on the lifeguard tower,
Man at the gate gives us a wink.
Just give him a generous berth
He suffers from a loving dearth,
And spins his wheels, spraying sand,
All he needs is a helping hand,
Before he floats away from earth.
Wanted to be astronaut
never learned and only fought.
Distracted by his desperate hunger,
now wishing he were ever younger.
Would he rather have been bought?
Rattling swords and imbuing fear
Warming verse to draw a tear,
Whether by committee or the man himself,
The words will rattle bindings off the shelf.
To speak and wish happy birthday Shakespeare.
Welcome to my greatest mirth Day!
The only real and true re-birth Day!
So plant some Trees,
and Save the Bees!
And have a Happy Earth Day!
I got real muddy getting these, but boy am I glad I did! A few of the local Snowy Egrets in Sunken Meadow state park were enjoying some muscles they were able to pull out of of the marsh. Enjoy!
In the dark its hard to see
Rub your eyes, sip your coffee
Stretch your arms and wake the day,
No one around, don’t care anyway.
Just get up and watch the sea.
If you’re down on your luck
Call upon some friendly Puck,
He’ll tug and he’ll tangle
and work every angle,
But he’s sure to get you un-stuck
